Screenshotting Snapchat Posts Could Get You Sued

snapchat-iphone

There are apps and different hacks out there that allow users to bypass the system and take screenshots without the original sender knowing, even though Snapchat encourages users not to send any posts they wouldn’t want to be shared or saved by officially notifying senders if the recipient takes a screenshot.

The minister of state for culture, Ed Vaizey, has warned everyone that taking these screenshots of Snapchat posts could constitute copyright infringement and could later lead to users suing each other.

Minister of State for Culture, Ed Vaizey.

“Under UK copyright law, it would be unlawful for a Snapchat user to copy an image and make it available to the public without the consent of the image owner.” He states.

“The image owner would be able to sue anyone who does this for copyright infringement.”
