If we start dressing lighter maybe spring will arrive faster. Or we will just get sick. by leemmy

"People have asked me why I chose Benedict for this and I would answer that by saying, ‘why not Benedict for everything?’ He is so crazy good. I loved working with him. He brings exactly the respect and intelligence and depth and also humour to every scene as I was hoping he would. When I saw his work in Sherlock, like so many others I was impressed by his seemingly effortless dexterity and his ability. It was almost like watching an Olympic gymnast go from incredible position to incredible position. He really is an exceptional talent and in addition to being the great actor he is, he was an absolute joy to spend some time with. He is someone who just elevated everything and while you don’t want the classic, clichéd British villain, which we’ve all seen a million times, my guess is that we’ve seen just as many American villains. I think Benedict is one of the best actors alive. So the real question is ‘why did he accept the movie?’ I think he is so good and seeing him in Sherlock just blew my mind and I had that feeling that he would be great for almost anything. And he exceeded all my expectations"

I felt like I needed to follow up the revelry with what this blog does best - casting a sharp light on clothes that should be kept in the dark. Forever. Or just burnt. Whichever ensures they can never come back.

In this case, that would be quite the bonfire, because HE’S WEARING SO MANY. I mean, I’m all about layering to change up an outfit, but this outfit has so many personalities, it’s making me dizzy. You could clothe and entire family with the clothing from this one outfit. The Brady Bunch called - they want all their clothes back.

To sum, today’s Cumbertip from L to B: Dress yourself, then remove 50-75% of the clothing you’ve put on your top half.

I honestly think those are boot cut. I work in retail. I fold a lot of jeans. It's actually pretty rare to find a true flare in anything but the Juniors department these days. His legs are just so slender that I think it kind of exaggerates the whole look. And well, I'm actually not mad at it, but I guess I'm in the minority.

You’re probably right about the bootcut v flare! If they were true flare, they would be far worse. Those jeans still aren’t my cup of tea, but to each their own! You’re not necessarily in the minority :-)

Some recent flare leg jean photos came up on my dash this morning. Will you be posting about that monstrosity?

Just reading the words “flare leg jean” gave me hives. Oh no…oh. no.

After some unfortunate Googling (I can add “benedict cumberbatch flare jean” to my list of things I never wish I’ve Googled) I found one pic, but it’s old! Does this mean he’s a repeat offender?! Noooooo. I mean, do your legs flare, Benedict? No. Neither should your jeans.

Some of my favorite Batch-fits (Batch outfits? Maybe? No?)! The light blue is probably my favorite ever - the sheet is a close second ;-)

What are y’all’s? I wanna see!!!

Hi Louise! *waves* Looking forward to reading your posts :) What is your favourite Batch outfit?

Ooohh gooood question! Pretty much anything even remotely related to a suit but I also like some of his casual/relaxed looks, as long as he doesn’t layer too much. Sometimes he looks like he’s preparing to enter a game of strip poker he doesn’t expect to win and is hedging his bets…ya know? Oh…and I really disliked the Guillam hair. I may be losing some friends, but I just had to let that out. I mean, not a curl in sight. Come ON MAN! And I’m with Emmy on the hat = crime policy.

But I’m putting together some of my fav Batches - y’all should do the same! Cumber-chic appreciation week?! LET’S DO IT!

FAUX-DRUNKEN PILOTBATCH! Apparently the alcohol goes directly to his head errant curl(s)! LOVE!
